What you'll do

A fully local plate reader on your own hardware that greets your own household's vehicles by name, and for every other vehicle stores no plate text at all — only a keyed token that lets you learn 'the same unknown car has now dwelled outside three nights running' without ever holding a readable record of your neighbours' plates. You will have measured its real read rate and character error rate on your own driveway at night and in the rain, written those numbers down alongside the vehicles it detected but could not read at all, enforced a retention rule that destroys the linking key on a schedule you chose, and proved in a drill that a printed copy of your own plate is accepted — which is exactly why this project refuses, in code and with a test, to be wired to any gate, door, or lock.
