Have you ever watched a car radio spell out the station's name and the song that's playing, and wondered where those words come from?

They are not in the sound. The station is broadcasting them as actual data, in the clear, riding alongside the music, to anyone with a receiver — and almost nobody who has listened to that dial for years ever finds out it has a written channel running underneath it. What you'll do

A written record of your own FM dial that you own outright — an RTL-SDR dongle feeding rtl_fm into the open-source redsea decoder, driven by a small Python scanner Claude Code wrote — that walks the frequencies you list, reads each station's broadcast identity straight out of the air (its PI code, its call sign back-calculated from that code if you're in the US or Canada, its eight-character station name, its programme type, and the RadioText it is scrolling right now), records how cleanly it heard each one, refuses to write down a name it never actually received, and renders the whole dial as one self-contained offline HTML page you can open with no internet at all.
